Merit Scholarships 2022/2023
General conditions for registration
in the Merit Scholarships Plan:
1.Kuwaiti Citizen.
2.The age of the applicant
shall not be less than (16) years and not more than (23) years.
3.To have a Kuwaiti general
secondary certificate or its equivalent in its scientific and literary
sections, provided that the validity of the certificate does not exceed a
period of two academic years from the date of graduation.
4.The percentage of the
general secondary certificate or its equivalent should not be less than the
minimum percentage for applying for the specialization in the annual
scholarship plan.
5.IGCSE holders are required
to obtain the AS Level, and the courses passed by the student during the
interim period are counted according to the conditions announced in the
Ministry's annual scholarship plan.
6.Saudi secondary school
students are required to submit an academic sequence starting from the first
grade to the third grade of secondary school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
and to submit a certificate of performance test of academic achievement and
abilities from the National Center for Measurement and Evaluation of the
Ministry of Education. Higher Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
7.To have obtained the
academic IELTS test with a score of (5) or the TOEFL test with a score of (45)
from the centers approved by the Ministry in the State of Kuwait when
submitting the application.
8.To have obtained a final
acceptance from one of the distinguished universities, certified by the
cultural office in the country of study.
9.The applicant must not be
an employee in any entity, or on a study permit, or a delegate from another
entity, and he must provide the Ministry with evidence of that.
10.Must not hold a university
degree.
11.If the student obtains
admission from a merit university with a specialization that is not listed in
the scholarship country (the place of study), it is required that he fulfill
the minimum declared percentage for registration in the annual scholarship
plan, except for medical specializations (human medicine - dentistry – medicine-
pharmacy) which requires that the percentage not be less than 90 %.
12.Students who withdraw from
the scholarship plan of the Ministry of Higher Education are allowed to
register for direct scholarships for medical specializations after paying the
financial fine for withdrawal.
13.Students who have withdrawn
from internal scholarships are allowed to register for direct scholarships for
medical specializations, with proof of that provided by the General Secretariat
of private universities.
The documents required to be uploaded
during the registration process:
1.High school transcripts
including the sequence of academic years without interruption for all secondary
school grades according to each academic system.
2.A statement to whom it may
concern from the Department of Private Education at the Ministry of Education
regarding the equivalence of the general secondary certificate for foreign high
school graduates from inside or outside the State of Kuwait.
3.A copy of the civil ID of
the student and the guardian.
4.A copy of the passport (info
page).
5.Certificates of Performance
and Achievement Test for those with a Saudi secondary school degree, whether
from inside or outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
6.IELTS or TOEFL test
certificate, as required.
7.A statement to whom it may
concern issued by the General Secretariat of private universities and a
transcript from the university, if available.
8.Final acceptance/approval
letter certified by the Cultural Office.
Note: A student under the
age of (18 years) must have one of their parents accompany them to the
scholarship headquarters until they reach the age of (18 years).
