His
Excellency the Minister of Oil, Minister of Higher Education and Chairman of
the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and
Quality Assurance of Education Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Faris signed this
Sunday morning, a cooperation protocol concerning the Academic Guidance Center
project with His Excellency the Minister of Information and Culture, Minister
of State for Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public
Authority for Youth Abdulrahman Badah Al-Mutairi, at the Ministry of Higher
Education building, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Higher Education, Dr. Sabeeh Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, the Director General of
the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of
Education, Dr. Hamad Abdel Wahab Al-Adwani, and the Director General of the
Youth Public Authority, Dr. Mishaal Al-Shaheen Al-Rabee.
In
this context, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Faris stated in a press release:
his full support for the initiatives and agreements between the various state
institutions to achieve the objectives of the development plan and Kuwait’s
Vision 2035. The signing of the protocol today comes to strengthen the direct
cooperation between the concerned authorities, to implement plans, programs,
and goals. To promote and develop institutional work, and to achieve
integration in the care of young people in the educational and academic sector.
Al-Fares
explained that the initiative reflects the efforts undertaken by the Public
Authority for Youth which are directly compatible with the objectives of the
Ministry of Higher Education. Guiding students to enroll in distinguished
universities by providing the necessary motivation for joining these
universities, and working to create opportunities to enable promising Kuwaiti
youth to obtain the scholarships of excellence offered by the Ministry of
Higher Education, and specified by the national apparatus in accordance with international
standards to ensure the effectiveness of scientific outputs, to create A highly
skilled and distinguished national workforce in all fields to contribute to
achieving sustainable economic and social development, and enhancing the
competitiveness of the State of Kuwait globally.
The
Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs
Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said that all state agencies are working to support
young adults and prepare all means necessary for them in all fields, so they
could represent the future of the country, adding that cooperation between the
three parties will reflect positively on the youth and illuminate the path
before them.
He stressed the eagerness to harness all potentials to achieve the aspirations of young people, indicating that the launch of the Public Authority for Youth and the Academic Guidance Center project in youth centers, aims to guide school students toward enrolling in distinguished universities (Merit Universities) and help them fulfill the admission requirements in these universities in accordance with and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education.
For
his part, Director-General of the Public Authority for Youth, Dr. Mishaal
Al-Rabee, stressed that the agreement embodies the cooperation between the
three parties to support the development of youth, providing the highest level
of care for their affairs in the academic sector, and providing them with
distinguished educational opportunities.
Dr.
Al-Rabee explained: The three bodies are concerned with the youth and their
academic education. The Ministry of Higher Education is responsible for
everything related to scholarships for Kuwaiti students, and sets the general
framework, policies and plans necessary to develop higher education outputs and
follow up on the affairs of scholarship students, while the National Authority
for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education defines higher
education institutions in countries. He pointed out that the authority, through
this center, will provide the rehabilitation, training, guidance, voluntary and
other services necessary to accept young people in the distinguished missions
program offered by the Ministry of Higher Education to school students, noting
that the authority has allocated the Fayhaa Youth Center, which is one of its
youth centers to implement the first phase of the work Center.
Further, the Director General of the National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Adwani, explained that the participation of the National Authority in the cooperation agreement came from his vision of making the culture of high-quality higher education a reality ingrained among the youth, as various academic studies confirmed that raising the quality of education has an impact. Direct and important to the economic and living development of the country, and the cooperation agreement on the Academic Guidance Center project comes with bodies close to the youth category to render aspects of cooperation to support them and provide them with distinguished educational opportunities, hoping that the protocol will bear fruit soon.
